Pop \ Electronica \ Rock
Daniel Adams is a songwriter and producer from St. John's, NL. He specializes in genres such as pop, rock, dance, and folk. Originally a mashup producer on YouTube, he attracted attention from many noted musicians. Working with multiple artists, he finds ways to improve and develop their sound without tarnishing their original vision. He is currently in the studio working with artists Clare Follett and Kellie Loder.
Adams gained an understanding of various pop music trends and DJ sensibilities while growing up surrounded by 90s dance music and 80s rock. He quickly gained an ear for pop music while performing Spice Girls and Backstreet Boys “concerts” for his family. This passion even led Adams to create his own compilation CDs in the vein of the Canadian MuchDance collections.
At thirteen, he began publishing his mashups on YouTube under the name SmadaLeinad. With this venture, he gained the respect of musicians such as Savan Kotecha, The Ting Tings, and Adam Lambert. At the same time, he would write and sequence his own compositions on a children’s keyboard, eventually moving on to producing on his computer and publishing the results online. While attending the College of the North Atlantic’s music program, he met Kellie Loder, and the two went on to become a successful songwriting duo.
Musically, Daniel follows in the footsteps of industry legends such as Max Martin and Paul Epworth. He is skilled at infusing pop music sensibilities into any genre of music, all while working within an artist’s desired comfort space. He sympathises with what people want and brings his own ideas to the table for them to explore.
