I am a drummer and aspiring pedal steel guitarist originally from Toronto. I moved to St. John's Fall 2015 to study ethnomusicology at Memorial University. As a drummer I have performed and recorded extensively in Canada and Europe with Canadian musicians and songwriters including Kelly Prescott Dan Griffin (formerly of Arkells), Paul Reddick, Devin Cuddy, Flash Lightnin’, Patrick Brealey, Whitney Rose, Adaline, Rykka, Dwayne Gretzky, Karrnel, Johnny Max, Robyn Dell’Unto, Jimmy Bowskill (of Blue Rodeo and The Sheepdogs), Valery Gore, David Baxter, and Conor Gains. I have been part of direct support (opening acts) for ZZ Top, Jeff Beck, Blue Rodeo and Big Sugar.
I have a BMus from Humber College’s Jazz Studies program and took private lessons Paul DeLong, Barry Elmes, Rick Lazar, Gord Sheard, and Don Thompson. After Humber I studied with master jazz drumming educator, Jim Blackley.
In 2014 I completed an MA in musicology at York University where focused on the history of the steel guitar.
Since in St. John's, I've been fortunate to record with Gavin Simms, Rachel Cousins, and David Picco. I've also played live with the Chad Murphy Trio, Mallory Johnson, Quidi Vidi Dirt Band, Alan Doyle, Brad Jefford Trio and Florian Hoefner.
