Hip Hop artist and songwriter from St. John's Newfoundland, Canada. Influenced by Hip-hop since he was 12, JYAY has an ability to create an understanding of struggle yet motivate listeners with his lyrics.
His first single featuring Vicki Doyle, “United We Stand", was written during the 2016 Fort McMurray wildfire evacuation which surpassed 30,000 views while raising money for the United Way.
In 2017, he released a collaborative EP called Progression which was followed up by a provincial tour. The popular single “No Way” was picked up by commercial Top 40 radio station 99.1 Hits FM and proceeded to win Battle of the Beats four times in a row on. Hits FM then retired the track with “Champion” status and continued with radio play on regular rotation for five weeks. The official music video for “No Way” was released and had over 20,000 views in the first 3 weeks.
To close out the month of June, JYAY announced he will be touring with Canadian phenom Merkules and Joseph Rose on a 6 province Canadian tour August 2017. In the same month, award winning artist Joseph Rose and JYAY teamed up for a collaborative single which will be released along with a video that was shot in Vancouver.
