FUNDING: Artist Development

This funding supports artists in all stages of project development from creation to marketing. Diverse artists and genres in demos, EP's, full-length sound recordings, marketing and promotion materials are eligible.

FUNDING: MUSICNL MARKET ACCESS

This touring funding is designed to assist export-ready, independent artist development outside of the province; to increase awareness locally, nationally and internationally of provincially produced music as an art form and as a viable industry

FUNDING: MUSICNL PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

This funding program is designed to provide assistance to members to improve creative skills, to gain greater knowledge of the music industry and to conduct business that seeks to promote and market MusicNL members outside the province

SOCAN - Canadian Music Assistance

Generally, this program only funds a small portion of the applicant’s budget. Minimum grant level is $1,000. Historically, the average Canadian Music Assistance grant is $1,500. Applicants with a long track record of successful applications to the SOCAN Foundation’s Canadian Music Assistance program may be invited to enter into a Sponsorship Agreement with the SOCAN Foundation. Historically, the average Sponsorship amount is $5,000. Applicants may receive no more than one (1) application to this program per calendar year.

SOCAN - Work Commissioning Assistance

Grants are provided to assist individuals, corporations, performers, ensembles, and presenters to commission SOCAN members to create new works in all genres of music. The intent of this program is to reach beyond local, regional, provincial, and federal arts council funding bodies and encourage other members of our community (individuals, organizations or companies) to commission new musical works.

Annual Operating Program for Professional Arts Organizations

ArtsNL is now accepting applications for the Annual Operating Program for Professional Arts Organizations (AOPPAO), available to professional not-for-profit arts organizations. Application deadline: Friday, February 15, 2019 (For annual organizational operations starting on/after April 15, 2019 to April 14, 2020)

FACTOR: Artist Development / Juried Sound Recording

As of the next Artist Development and Juried Sound Recording deadline on January 31, 2019 - new applicants submitting Applicant Profiles and Artist Profiles for review may do so at any time, including the same day you submit your project application. To do so, complete only the Mandatory Information section of the Artist Profile. You do not need to complete the Additional Information section of the Artist Profile to get the General Artist Rating.

NORTHERN TOUCH MUSIC FESTIVAL 2019

The 2019 Northern Touch Music Festival (NTFM) submissions are now open to singers, producers, rappers and DJ's. All selected artists will receive a full conference pass which will include education and meetings with industry from around the globe.

Submissions Now Open for Contact East 2019

Celebrating its 44th year, Contact East is Atlantic Canada's premier performing arts booking, showcasing and professional development conference that brings together over 200 presenters, agents, managers and artists from around the world. SERFA - 12TH Annual Conference in Chattanooga, TN May 15-19, 2019 Showcases

Official showcases take place in Chattanooga, TN on May 15 - 19, 2019 and and feature artists selected by committee. Each act plays for approximately 15 minutes. Up to eight performers are featured each night. The performances are open to the public. Tickets are $15, and a three-night ticket is $30. Tickets are available at the door on the night of the performance, and do not grant access to any other conference events, including guerrilla showcases.

Applications are now open for the 2019 edition of The Great Escape festival in Brighton, UK. The call out is open to all artists including bands, singer-songwriters, DJs, collectives, duos at more.

The Artist Entrepreneur Program is specifically designed to help emerging artists and bands from all genres build their businesses and careers. Canada’s Music Incubator’s main focus during the program includes mentoring, networking, and collaboration

CANADA MUSIC INCUBATOR ARTIST MANAGER PROGRAM

The Artist Manager Program is an eight-week professional development program designed to mentor active artist managers and/or self-managed artists in a real world music industry environment. Delivered in collaboration with Coalition Music (Our Lady Peace, Simple Plan, USS, Finger Eleven, Justin Nozuka), this program takes a customized hands-on approach to working with artist managers to help build their management businesses and develop the careers of their artists.

NATIONAL MUSIC CENTRE’S ARTIST IN RESIDENCE PROGRAM OPEN FOR SUBMISSIONS

The National Music Centre (NMC) is accepting new submissions to its Artist in Residence program at Studio Bell for 2019. Interested applicants can apply at nmc.ca/artists by Monday, November 26, 2018.
