Ana & Eric

After performing together for many years in Folk and Bossa Nova projects, Ana Luísa Ramos and Eric Taylor Escudero have brought together the best of the two worlds. The partnership started as Ana was featured in Eric´s folk-rock project in 2012. In 2016 Ana released her debut album “Um”, with originals songs written by Eric and covers of traditional Brazilian songs and a Gershwin brothers Standard Jazz. Having performed in Brazil, Denmark, Austria, Portugal, Scotland, and Canada, Ana and Eric present a unique show that combines Folk, Bossa Nova, and Brazilian Popular Music, featuring originals songs and covers in English and Portuguese.
Ana – The Brazilian singer, songwriter and vocal coach, Ana Luísa Ramos released her first album in 2016. Working in the classical and popular fields, she has performed in Austria, Denmark, Argentina, Scotland, Portugal, Uruguay, Panama, Canada and studied in Argentina (Cesar Tello Teatro Colon), Austria (Barbara Bonney – Universität Mozarteum) and Canada (Bohdanna Novak – McGill). Ana moved to St. John’s in 2019 and is currently working on her new album “Amanheceu”.
Eric – Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Eric Taylor Escudero grew up in a house full of 60’s and 70’s rock and folk. Eric started writing his own songs and played in rock bands as a teenager before deciding to go on a solo career. He released three eps and one album “We were young and it was morning”, recorded in Austin, Texas. The album was acclaimed by Brazilian, North American and British media and described as “absolutely amazing from start to finish” by The Vinyl District. Eric is currently studying Ethnomusicology at Memorial University of Newfoundland and has a second album to release “Mirrors”.
