A former staff member of MusicNL (Marketing, Communications, & Sponsorship Coordinator, 2017), award nominee of MusicNL (Female Artist of the Year, 2014) and solo musician/singer/songwriter, Sherri brings a diverse perspective of the music industry and an extensive background of frontline and supervisory work in the non-profit sector.
Born and raised in St. John's, NL, Sherri has been performing at local events and venues and coordinating community programs for nearly 15 years. She recently worked as Diversity Outreach Coordinator at Association for New Canadians and traveled across Newfoundland & Labrador delivering diversity training, roundtable sessions, and managing the ANC's very first documentary titled HOME: Stories of Newcomers to NL, launched at The Rooms in April 2019.
Sherri has a breadth of experience in coordinating employment and education programs, with a strong skill set in program administration, evaluation, communications, marketing, and fund development. She has worked closely on projects with media partners such as CBC, industry associations such as Hospitality NL, St. John's Board of Trade, and crown corporations such as The Rooms. She completed studies at Memorial University of NL (Bachelor of Arts, 2005) Gardiner Centre (Digital Marketing & Social Media Certificate, 2019) and certifications and workshops in fundraising, leadership, professional writing, youth counselling, and program outcomes.
Sherri is thrilled to be back at MusicNL as the new Operations and Program Manager, and is looking forward to working with the music industry, business community, MNL members, board of directors, and province at large.
