Tony Murray’s career in music began in the mid 80’s working in various production capacities at local concerts for artists such as Tina Turner, Supertramp, Cory Hart, Platinum Blonde, Paul Young and Rod Stewart.
Since those early days he has gone on to successfully produce numerous concerts, shows and festivals throughout Eastern Canada. His Producer/Director/Writer credits include high profile productions such as 14 television shows with CBC, NTV, Eastlink, Bell, 16 Music NL Award Shows, 6 ECMA Award Shows, 5 ECMA Industry Award Shows, 3 ECMA Music & Industry Award Shows and 2 NL Arts Council Award Shows. He was also the Producer for all Juno productions at The Delta Ballroom and The SJ Convention Centre. Outdoor production credits include The Confederation Hill Concert, Mussel Bed Soiree in Lewisporte, GFW Salmon Festival, Festival of Friends in Logy Bay and CPC’s Ribfest in St. John’s. In 2015 Tony Murray was the Executive Producer for all “Canada 150 Celebrations” concerts, shows and special events in St. John’s.
Murray has also Produced and Directed a variety of corporate, charitable and speciality events such as The Autism Society’s “Ladies of Country Music”, “An Irish Tribute To Craig Dobbin”, The Janeway Children’s Miracle Concerts, Ron Hynes “The Night of 1000 Songs”, Jonny Harris “Kickin The Pills”, Hurricane Igor “We Stand On Guard”, England’s Team Extreme, Team Broken Earth, “Ruckus On The Edge”, Honour 100’s “March To The Florizel”, Festival 500 “Sharing The Voices” Finale, “The Spirit of Ireland”, “Torbay 250” w/Great Big Sea, “MUN Alumni Reunion Concert” and The 2015 “Premiers of Canada Concert” plus many others.
He is currently in pre-production to Produce/Direct/Write the 2020 ECMA Award Show in St. John’s on April 30th at Mile One Centre.
Tony is also the Entertainment Director at The Rock House on George Street and The Ship Pub on Soloman’s Lane.
