ECMA, Music/Musique NB, MusicNL, Music NS, and Music PEI Present the “Canadian Music. East Coast Style. Spotlight” at the 2018 Folk Alliance International Conference

The East Coast Music Association (ECMA), Music/Musique NB, MusicNL, Music NS and Music PEI are pleased to be presenting the “Canadian Music. East Coast Style Spotlight” at the 30th anniversary of the Folk Alliance International Conference (FAI) in Kansas City, Missouri from February 14th – 18th.  


FAI 2018 official showcasing artists include Matthew Byrne, Erin Costelo, Rose Cousins, CY, Devarrow, Earle & Coffin, Fortunate Ones, Lisa LeBlanc, Dylan Menzie, and Ouroboros. Other featured artists include Newfoundland and Labrador’s Ian Foster and Rube & Rake.


The Atlantic collective of organizations will join forces to collaborate and present some of the finest talent from Atlantic Canada at the “Canadian Music. East Coast Style.” showcases and business development initiative held at the Westin Crown Center Hotel.


Leading the way with over 40 East Coast participants, showcasing artists and management companies, the contingent will take part in the official FAI Showcases, host four evenings of the “Canadian Music. East Coast Style” music showcases, and play host to three “Songwriters in the Round” showcase matinees.


“We are delighted to continue to build on our long term partnership with Music/ Musique NB, MusicNL, Music NS and Music PEI to offer an array of showcasing and business activities at FAI 2018,” says Shelley Nordstrom, Export Manager for the ECMA. “Over the last fifteen years, we have developed a strong Atlantic Canadian footprint, annually presenting a high caliber of showcasing artists to a large network of international music buyers, media and industry stakeholders from the North American folk community. This collaborative initiative provides market access and assists our artists and companies to expand into new international markets.“
