MusicNL is Hiring Two JCP Program Positions in St. John’s

Digital Marketing & Virtual Platforms Coordinator

Employer: Music Industry Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (MusicNL)

Duration: 26 weeks

Start date: July 13, 2020

Salary: $524 per week

*This position is pending government funding*

The Digital Marketing & Virtual Platforms Coordinator will act as a technical resource and marketing specialist and oversee MusicNL’s overall digital marketing strategy and social media presence.

Experience in content and ad creation for websites and social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn is considered an asset. Candidates must also possess a working knowledge of marketing/digital tools such as Zoom, Marcato, MailChimp, Dropbox, Google Drive and be able to troubleshoot and provide technical assistance to MusicNL members, board, and staff where necessary.

The following skills are preferred but not limited to:

  • Publish content to various platforms and channels
  • Skilled in setting up and managing websites digital marketing tools
  • Work and edit graphics, photography
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Participate in technical troubleshooting
  • Manage user rights of our websites, including creating new user accounts
  • Knowledgeable of current digital marketing and social media strategies
  • Provide support and training to website users
  • Monitor analytics and statistics of websites and mobile app traffic

 

Qualifications:

  • High School graduate
  • Relevant post-secondary education completed or in progress i.e., diploma, degree
  • Familiarity with Newfoundland and Labrador music and arts industry
  • Proficient and apt in social media platforms
  • Fundamental web competencies including utilization of content management systems (WordPress, etc.) to create and update websites
  • Technical troubleshooting skills
  • Detail oriented, with focus on quality and accuracy
  • Strong multi-tasking and problem-solving skills along with ability to meet aggressive deadlines
  • Be creative and innovative in approach
  • Able to work solo and as part of a team

  • Must be resident of the Newfoundland & Labrador
  • Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • EI-eligible

Outreach & Events Coordinator

Employer: Music Industry Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (MusicNL)

Duration: 26 weeks

The Outreach & Events Coordinator will be tasked with handling the logistics of event-based programming and special projects, increase partnerships within the music industry, and work closely with groups across the province to enhance MusicNL’s regional presence. Experience in event planning, client relations, communications, and a strong knowledge base of the arts industry are essential to this position.

The following tasks are required but not limited to:

  • Ability to carry out event logistics for conferences, showcases, live performances, and other MusicNL programming
  • Liaise with industry professionals including workshop leaders, industry representatives, and panelists
  • Organize and coordinate contracts with performers and vendors.
  • Assist with the development and delivery of all event-specific promotional materials.
  • Identify areas of potential expansion within programs, services, and within the membership
  • Work in tandem with schools, post-secondary institutions, arts organizations, and businesses to enhance capacity building and extend MusicNL’s presence across the province
  • Be committed to managing stakeholder relations on behalf of MusicNL
  • Set up information sessions in and outside of St. John’s
  • Have strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work some evenings, weekends and have a flexible schedule
  • Proficient in MS office products including PowerPoint and Excel

The Outreach and Events Coordinator will work directly with MusicNL staff as well as the Board of Directors to assist in the implementation and coordination of all MusicNL communications, events, and related activities.

 

Qualifications:

  • High School graduate
  • Relevant post-secondary education completed or in progress i.e., diploma, degree
  • Strong organizational skills especially as it relates to event coordination
  • Familiarity with Newfoundland and Labrador music and arts industry
  • Be creative and innovative in approach
  • Demonstrate skills in interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in event logistics and/or aspects of event management
  • Experience working with stakeholders such as businesses, schools, post-secondary, and government representatives
  • Ability to create and maintain small project-based budgets
  • Able to work with audio-visual companies and other vendors during set up
  • Quick, effective decision-making skills
  • Professional and efficient phone & e-mail management
  • Able to work with and meet the needs of the performers and the show producer when required
  • Able to work solo and as part of a team
