The Laughing Heart Music executive assistant will work directly under the company owner to support the administrative and day-to-day activities related to all of the company’s operations. This will include, but not be limited to: supporting Laughing Heart Music’s artist management, record label, and music publishing clients. The position will provide the successful candidate with an opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the music business first-hand with a growing Atlantic Canadian music company.
Duties and responsibilities

– Preparing and submitting grant applications and completion reports – Technical and logistical advancing for national and international tours – SOCAN live performance reporting – Preparing and maintaining various spreadsheets and Google Documents – Awards, conferences, and contest submissions and applications – Correspondence with industry professionals in advance of key events - Answering email inquiries, and fulfilling content requests – Calendar administration for artists and company personnel - Social media updating and posting – Attending meetings to prepare and take minutes – Data entry and bookkeeping
Prior work experience in an administrative role or office setting will be considered an asset. Prior work experience in the music industry will be considered an asset, but is not required.
Preferred skills include:
• Microsoft Office Suite of programs • Google Suite of programs • Familiarity with music streaming and social media platforms • Reading and writing skills • Communication skills • General interest in music and the music business
