Description: Have an arts-related legal question? Get free legal help! Artists of all disciplines, as well as cultural managers of arts organizations are invited to attend the pro bono (yes, that means free!) Legal Clinic. ​ Sign up for a 30-minute appointment with a volunteer lawyer to receive advice on whether you’re getting ​a good deal o​n your songwriting contract, how to register your copyright on that painting you created, the legal implications of producing or exhibiting work in unconventional places, ​and much more! Our volunteer attorneys will answer questions about intellectual property (including copyrights, trademarks, and licensing), arts and entertainment law issues​, and more​.

Are you an attorney​ interested in volunteering? We’re seeking volunteer attorneys who can answer questions about intellectual property, art and entertainment law issues, contract law and more. Clients are booked for 30-minute appointments that will be scheduled at ​1:30PM, 2:10PM, 2:40PM, 3:10PM, 3:40PM, 4:10PM. A Demonstration Research project is currently underway via the Common Ground Study Group. Business and Arts NL has partnered with this group to create the Pop Up Arts Space project which has connected over three dozen arts groups and arts organizations with in-kind production, event, and meeting space. The vision for this project extends beyond the Neal Building and into the collection of formerly Fortis owned properties on Water Street. Site tours will be available throughout the afternoon.
