CBDC Wants to Help You Hit the Right Note
With 15 Community Business Development Corporations (CBDCs) across Newfoundland & Labrador, CBDC is thrilled to be able to support musicians, not only in their craft but also as entrepreneurs. CBDCs work with entrepreneurs across the province to support all types of businesses as they start, grow, and support the livelihood of our communities, and our communities are made that much brighter by local musicians. Musicians are the creative spirit of the province and are often telling important stories through their craft. Just like siblings Dillon and Shana Brown.
Shana and Dillon Brown have been playing music together their whole lives. Performances for friends and family turned into sharing their music at celebrations and public functions. The brother-sister duo was just nine and eleven when their first CD came out and in the seven years since they’ve released another full-length CD and casual performances have turned into paying gigs. CBDC helped Shana and Dillon with a low-interest youth loan through the Kick$tart & Drive program but more than that, they’ve been a huge source of inspiration.
“CBDC has been great supporters of our music,” says Shana. “There’s constant promotion through social media, word of mouth to other businesses looking for entertainment, and encouragement directly to us.”
There’s no limit to what you can do with CBDC behind you. CBDC knows firsthand that arranging financing as an entrepreneur can sometimes be difficult through regular financial institutions. That’s why a loan with CBDC is a repayable loan with competitive interest rates and repayment terms. We believe in people and want to help you succeed.
