The Jibfest Weekender 2021 – Feb. 19 & 20

There is a lot of confusion and misinformation on social media so we are releasing this statement to clear things up. The Jibfest Weekender (JFW) was set to take place on Feb. 19th & 20th at 7 venues throughout downtown Corner Brook. There were no events planned at Marble Mountain, the weekend was extremely scaled back, and was by far the smallest festival in our 11-year history. All the regulatory agencies were award of the events and there would have been no changes to the operations of the venues we were working with (they’ve been operating safely for the better part of a year now). 

Unfortunately, we’re aware things can change very quickly and with the recent spike in cases we feel it is the most responsible decision to cancel this year’s festival. Safety of our patrons, artists, staff, and community as a whole, has always been, and continue to be, our top priority, Ticketholders will be contacted this week with information about refunds. 

Since our inception in 2011 we’ve worked with hundred  of artists and small businesses. We’ve welcomed thousands of attendees and have pumped more than a million dollars into the local economy. There has been some incredible friendships, partnerships, and memories formed over the last decade but sadly this year we must take a pause. We want to sincerely thank all our attendees and sponsors, we would not be where we are today if it wasn’t for your continued support.
