MusicNL Showcases Record-Breaking 22 Artists at Folk Alliance International 2025! 🎶🌍

We’re thrilled to announce that MusicNL is making history at Folk Alliance International 2025, with 22 artists from Newfoundland and Labrador set to take the stage—our largest group ever for an outbound export event! For the first time, this group includes five Francophone artists, marking another significant milestone as we highlight the diversity and wealth of talent in our province.

Taking place in Montreal from February 19 to 23, Folk Alliance is the world’s largest gathering of the folk music industry. The event draws more than 3000 delegates—gathering artists and industry delegates from across the globe for five days of showcases, networking, and professional development.

MusicNL’s offerings at Folk Alliance will include:

Official showcase performances by Ana & Eric, The Once and Rum Ragged
A 3-night MusicNL private showcase featuring 21 artists from Newfoundland & Labrador
Our first-ever Francophone export mission
Partnership to highlight Atlantic Canadian under the brand ‘Canadian Music East Coast Style’, in collaboration with Music PEI, Music Nova Scotia and Music · Musique NB
Private networking and curated business meetings in partnership with the Canadian Independent Music Association

At MusicNL, we’re committed to building export opportunities for our sector. Our mission to Folk Alliance will build capacity and develop industry for our province’s music community. This project is a cornerstone of our 2025 export work, allowing our artists to shine on the global stage, grow their networks, and take their careers to the next level. This will also foster networking and export results for those participating in subsequent events such as East Coast Music Week in St John’s and MusicNL Week 2025.
