Growing the Music Industry in Newfoundland and Labrador.

St. John’s Summer Trail Mix

The City of St. John’s and MusicNL are teaming up once again to celebrate local musical talent through a St. John’s Summer Trail Mix! This project will see the creation of a summery playlist featuring local music which will be accessible online (using both SoundCloud and Spotify platforms), and via QR code throughout the City in parks and trails. The playlist will be promoted online by MusicNL and the City of St. John’s. This time, our theme is “Summer” – a welcome seasonal shift away from snow!

Artists whose track is included on the playlist will receive a fee of $100. A maximum of fifty (50) tracks will be selected for inclusion.

PLUS: Every musician/band that contributes a track to the St. John’s Summer Trail Mix playlist will have a chance at an awesome “Trail Mix Single” video recording opportunity. What does that mean? If your track is selected by the panel of judges (representing the City of St. John’s, MusicNL, and the local music community), you’ll work with a team of pros to record a live video performance of your track. That showcase performance video is then yours to use for promotion, funding submissions, export opportunities, or whatever else comes your way. The City of St. John’s and MusicNL will help share it far and wide too! What an opportunity!

For more information, please email trailmix@musicnl.ca.
